Lyrics

NAMASTE’
KERRY PATRICK CLARK

This old man by the mission doors only open from nine to four
Hunger brings him here
Till Father comes with the tarnished key like he has three times a week
Going on five years
The old man echoes through the hall
We are one and one is all we must persevere

CHORUS
Namaste’ I greet the spirit within you when I say
Namaste’ Namaste’ Namaste’

Little boy walking off to school can't forget his mamma's rules
She tells him every day
Never listen to strangers talk look both ways before you cross
This world is a dangerous place
At the corner light is a tired old man
The young boy offers his tiny hand and the stranger up and says

CHORUS
Namaste’ I greet the spirit within you when I say
Namaste’ Namaste’ Namaste’

BRIDGE
He doesn't know what the old man meant
When he asked him the old man said

I let my younger years go by before I found Thy Father's eyes
He has been following me
He's been my voice in a crazy world that comes searching for miracles
But then does not believe
I know if one voice sings out loud enough
It might take time and a little luck someone else will see

CHORUS
Namaste’ I greet the spirit within you when I say
Namaste’ Namaste’ Namaste’

BRIDGE
Look at you and look at me
You helped this old man across the street
Is it so far out of reach
